I truly believe we all want to be as present as we can in our lives and that we all strive to live it to the full. But what if we carry with us behaviours that worked for us at an early stage when we adjusted to life in our family and community? Behaviours that now are not helpful but actually stop us from being just that- present and our true selves. These behaviours and beliefs are part of storylines we might not even hear or remember, they just run in the background.
The Focussed Mindfulness Method can help you in discovering these storylines and beliefs and then help you to deal with them in a way which gives you back your ability to act and live in a mindful way, true to yourself. I feel passionate as a practitioner about guiding you and then giving you these tools to work with yourself. Speaking from my own experience, it’s a journey well worth taking -filled with insight, sometimes surprising but at times also light-hearted.

“I became fascinated by how people suffered as they got older and seemed to be caught in a downward health spiral.”
- Absence and Stress Management
- Employee Performance
- Anxiety, Stress and Sleep Problems
I became aware, from my own experience over many years in public services, of how so many people experience health issues, caught up in what seems to be a downward health spiral.
Determined to explore this before retirement and through a midlife search for a change in my working life, I retrained and began to practice techniques that are empowering and enable people to find and maintain their own life balance.
I made the personal life change to work independently and now work with individuals and groups experiencing challenges, with the aim of enabling people to maximise their health and wellbeing. I believe that we all deserve to get the most from our lives, whatever our age or lifestyle.

Beth is a qualified occupational therapist (OT) with eight years’ experience of working in both physical and mental health and is an integrative therapist and coach using the Focussed Mindfulness approach. Focussed mindfulness and occupational therapy complement each other well, both having a holistic and wholesome approach to maximising well-being, self-awareness and resilience.
Beth uses her skills and knowledge to support and enlighten others, teaching them how to tune into resources that are already instilled within them to bring about deep emotional intelligence, intuition and integrity. The Focussed Mindfulness tools get quickly and directly to the root cause of any emotional issues that cause unnecessary physical or emotional pain and suffering. They tackle them head on, ultimately bringing freedom from self-limitations so they can go on to live the lives they consciously want.
Beth was first introduced to Focussed Mindfulness and Clare Walters, its founder, following a challenging life event several years ago. Later, it was the lifeline that supported and guided her through postnatal depression following the birth of her daughter in 2016. Alongside her professional training Beth has completed she has taken a conscious choice to personally live and practice the simple but life-changing techniques. This is taking Beth on a journey of self-exploration and is adding further depth to her personal and professional development and has instilled a lifelong toolkit of innate wisdom, knowing and love for herself.

Sometimes challenges in your personal or professional life can escalate until they feel overwhelming and you just don’t know how to move forward. You lose confidence in yourself and your ability to make decisions. You feel stuck, unsure what to do next and your inner critic chatters away with a loud and relentless voice that makes you feel even worse.
Whether you are facing into a particularly difficult event, or trying to handle several different issues at the same time, it can really get you down and hold you back from living the life you want to live.
The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. With 18 years’ experience in coaching individuals and teams, I have witnessed many people improving their personal and professional lives as they come to understand themselves and how to manage their emotional responses. The techniques within focused mindfulness also enable you to release your deepest and most painful emotional responses so that you emerge with a greater sense of freedom and the resilience to handle whatever life throws in your path.
As a result of this approach, people find they increase their personal resourcefulness and the ability to create productive and effective relationships with others.
